max timing and 110 octane.

I'm going to the strip for my first time this weekend and have access to 110 octance gas. Would it benefit me to use it and bump up my timing beyond the 17 or so that I already have? I'm not using my nitrous yet so that's not a factor. At what point do the benefits of advanced timing negate themselves?

For reference my mods are Gen V header, no cat, 2.5 exhaust, cai, 91 intake cam. Thanks

Get a TechTom and start gathering data. Let us know when you have collected a decent dataset.

With 110 you could probably go as far as 20 deg , in the Altima I would run 26 deg on 100 oct. , stock was 20 .....

I used to run 20 degrees all day long on 93 octane in the 110* summer with no problems

i put PRO mark II in my tank and i advanced the distributor as far as it would go. Beat on it like crazy and no problems. I also bored out my spare MAF by about 1mm and put it on at the same time. The function of this as to lean it out. The difference was noticeable, but not much at all.

I really doubt you'll notice the difference unless you get a full tank of the 110, and then run it with timing at like, 25 degrees for a week. It takes a while for the ecu to learn, and so you can't just bump your timing and expect instant mad gains.

Of course, if you're really interested in getting instant power, you need to put it on a dyno and see what timing is best for 110 octane.

Just for reference, I did bump the timing to about 21* with a 1/2 mix of 110 and 91 octane, no ping, pulled very strong up top, noticable differnce over my regular 17* of timing. I love the smell of race gas! racing results
