What JWT cams to get? (Please I need the info)

Hi, I saw a lot of information about cams, but I really don't understand about deg. duration and lift.

My car is a classic (b13) NA, but in the future I want a big shot of naws (100 hp) .

I run only in 1/8 mile track.

Wich JWT cams should I get?

I have the money to buy them, but I want to be sure of what cams. I'm thinking in get S3. What do you think?

Thanks a lot for the info, please give me your opinion.

Your car a daily driver or track only?

S3s increase power thruout the powerband, smooth idle.

S4s incresed power, lopey idle, sounds like a v8.

C1s you need to upgrade retainers and springs.

If I were you I would get the s4's since it's not an everyday driver and they give a better gain than the s3

i have the S4's, i love them, the idle is nice and lopey, it takes time getting used to them, you sort of have to change your driving to match your cams. I notice the low end that i've lost, but the upper end is insane.. and i'm still going through stock exhaust and exhaust manifold. if your going all motor i say stick to the S4's

hopefully when i get an exhaust and header i will feel the difference even more

Go with the S4s. Lopey idle, higher RPMs, broader powerband. Have fun!!!

Get slicks instead I only saw a 1-2 tenth drop in ET in the 1/8 with a 1-2mph trap gain with S3 cams. However I dropped 4-6 tenths and added 1mph trap in the 1/8 with slicks.

Go with the c3 cams if money is no object. You'll have to make a hefty purchase in cams/retainers/springs/dyno time but the gains are just about double what the s4 cams produce give or take.

The difference in power between S3's and S4's is within 1-2 HP, according to the dyno sheets from SCC's Cam Shootout. The major difference being where/when the power comes on. The S3's make most of their power and torque earlier than the S4's.

I might get in trouble making this generalization:

...all things being equal, the S3's would have the advantage in an 1/8 mile run. The S4's would begin to take the advantage as time and speed increases, such as in the 1/4 mile and beyond.

From reading your post and the rest of the thread, I would think S4's or better yet C3's with tuning, as Purist pointed out, would satisfy your needs best.

Either way good luck with your project.
