well, its 3AM and i finished "mock" hooking my digi6 up. I cranked her over, but no dice. it doesnt fire. Here's what i hooked up:
MSD pos. power cable to pos. batt. terminal
MSD neg. power cable to Neg. batt. terminal
MSD red "coil wire" to green/yellow stock coil wire
MSD white "coil wire" to black/red stock coil wire
MSD orange wire to MSD coil pos.
MSD black wire to MSD coil neg.
Try switching the wires around. Black/red + & Green/yellow -. I believe the Black/red wire is the thicker of the two wires leading to the coil. I had the same problem. Does your led come on? Mine didn't. I switched the wires and viola, it started.
Late,
KEN
yes set it at zero.. i would also ground it to the frame instead of to the battery...but thats not the problem, be sure its at 0 -not 4 or anything and make sure the white wire is connected properly that is your signal wire...

Steve, That is your problem .. it HAS to be on zero... it is made to operate on a 4 cylinder without having to change that setting, therefore it stays at 0 all the other settings are for different configurations, the number doesnt necissarily stand for how many cylinders you have,... it is explained in the directions, which you may or may not have .. either way, set it to 0, ground it back on the chassis ensure all youre connections are good, especially the white wire and thats gonna do it!!!
Jose, im no electrical mastermind like you are, but im guessing the ECU lying on the ground next to the car probably has something to do with it not starting.
DOH (smacks forehead)
It's okay though, im sure we've all done really stupid sh*t like this before......
anyhow, yeah, it fired right up...that 2-step in awesome!!!!!
Hey its all good, as long as you got it running..EVERYBODY screws up, big or small a screw up is a screw up is a screw up so it may as well be a big one so you can laugh about it ( as long as its nothing catastrophic).
anyway, the 2 step is kinda fun...what rpm are you set at and where did you locate your switch???
the advantage over the digital 6+ is being all digital vs analog = faster, more accurate/consistent
not to mention the 2 step program and you are able to set your rpm limiter and retard control however you want whenever you want vs having to use modules with 6a/6al....
Jose, i havent messed with it yet. like i said, i just mock hooked it up in my engine bay to make sure evrything wokred before i route the wiring and mount iot inside the cabin. Anyways, i just turned the 2-step to 2500rpms, so i could see it if worked without revving up my cold engine to high. i hevent made a switch for it yet, but im gonna do it with the tranny switch i think. That is how jackson had his and he had no porbs with it.
