Flywheel to crankshaft bolt holes

I received a motor and the threaded holes on the crankshaft are stripped! The very first bolt I touched would barely come out. Yes, I was using a six point socket. One will not start threading and another turns for about 4 times and I haven't been brave enough to try any further. Has anyone had this problem before?

Get a M10X1.0 tap. You didn't try to use the automatic flexplate bolts to bolt up your 5 speed flywheel did you? Don't ask how I know, they're too short.

I just got the jdm motor today. There was a automatic flywheel on it. One of the bolts holding the flywheel( the one that came with it) to the crankshaft were crossthreaded. It was hard to get out. It haven't begun to install anything, just tried to get auto flywheel off. Probably put on with an impact wrench.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but you are supposed to use 12 point sockets on flywheel bolts....
