how do you bleed the lifters

i just rebuilt my engine and everything is fine except there is ticking in the head.i searched and i read that sometimes you have to bleed the lifters.how do you do that? and do you think this will solve my problem? thanks

With new lifters or old ones that have been sitting for a while, let them sit in a container of oil for a few hours .... that will usualy get them blead out , but they should blead out in a few miles of driving or running at higher rpm ...( 2500 ) ...if they wont blead out or you are still ticking , then you have a problem with clearance ir a bad lifter ??

The FSM says you have to poke a thin metal rod (maybe a needle?) thru to the bottom of the lifter while it is submersed in oil while it is standing straight up. Do not let it lay on its side.
