tach problems

A while back i was messing with the timming and i had a bad ground, when i tride to start the car my tach was spinning backwards...i had an autometer and it was hooked up to the factory tach wire, after this happend the tach wouldnt work hooked up to that wire, and neither does the stock one. I hooked the tack to the coil and all was well...until i sold my autometer the other day..my question is, could i have burnt my ecu? well the tach part, and would that make my tach not work..thanks.

Yes - I've seen this on a B13 and two B14's now... you said it yourself, the bad ground messed you up - basically from what I know happened on my B14, if you lose ground to the body, but keep it to the engine while the car is running, the tach part of the ecu fries....

Get a new ecu and you should be cool.

Chris

ps I have a spare '93 if u need one.
