So after ruining my fuel pressure gauge adapter by cross threading the pos and having to get new fuel lines. I got to set the fuel rail in place with the gti-r injectors in it and the host and end peice hit a metal bracket that bolts up to the upper intake manifold! I can MAYBE turn it around but the hose might be kinked if I do that. Does anybody have any ideas?

Dude, chill out. Welcome to the turbo world! This is normal. You just have to trim the bracket with a grinder or a dremel. We all had to do it...(low port owners) Mhwaahahaa, your frustrations are just beginning.
Yup, cut mine also. You also have to move the AIV to the left for the rail to fit under the manifold. Good Luck.
PS - If I were you I would turn the fuel rail the other way. If not your vacuum tube for the FPR will be scrunched between the regulator and avalve cover.
In other words put the fuel feed on the left and regulator on the right, if looking down in engine bay.
Damn well after forever I got that bracket removed... my only question with it is do I need to keep it on? It seems it was part of the egr removal and the vacuum system to the manifold of some sort.... any help with this would be great. Also check this out...
That is the bracket that is in the way but.... it seems that the 2 outlets on it were part of the egr removal so I don't understand what I am supposed to do with it. Leave it and just cut a notch so fuel rail fits or just leave the whole thing off and plug the hoses?
I thought the rail looked fine this way.... and I can just extend the tube from the fpr to the manifold...
Also if you would like to see more pics of the progress check out my album...
I just unbolted the bracket and left it alone, the vacum lines hold it in place but it is able to move toward the firwall to clear the fuel rail. I also have my FPR on the passenger side like soon in the pics. Every thing works well for me.
Good luck!
What I was thinking is I could just cut about 1/2" off of the piping on that bracket... stick it in the tubes and just get more tubing to extend the lines.
What I really don't get is where the 2 lines go that prong off at the top because I remember it being part of the egr and I took that out.
When I did this on a 96 G20 I simply had him remove that bracket completely and just get longer vacuum lines to take the place of the hard lines attached to that bracket. Bracket gone, problem solved.

You can do it that way. But for me it's quicker to throw a piece of plastic over the entire engine bay, get a sears grinder and wack the ear of the bracket off in s-e-c-o-n-d-s. That way you don't have to sit there and figure out what vacuum hose went where blah, blah, blah. If you have the bracket off the car already-EVEN BETTER, whack it off!
Check out my ghetto mounting hardware for the fuel rail....
As you can see they are mounted on the top side of the fuel rail and then they go directly under the 2 holes where the front of the intake manifold mount. I plan on just getting longer bolts and some lock nuts to put on the bottom or maybe vise versa with the nuts up top so it is easier to tighten.
Will anybody else post pics of your mounting job. I am not sure whether this is a good idea or not, like to have some alternatives on hand.
