driveshaft seal problems

ok I replaced one of my driveshafts and pinched my seal, so I replaced it with a nissan seal, but once I press it all the way into the tranny it falls a little short of the new axle, I am positive that the axle it completely in the tranny and was wondering if there was some type of seal spacer, or something, I don't know, It just looks like the new seal is too far into the tranny.

The outside serface of the seal needs to set flush with the outside serface of the tranny. If ya put all the way in it's in to far.

that would fix my problem but I am afraid that if it sits flush, it might come out, but what your telling me is that there is supposed to be some room behind that seal

Vick is correct, I had tranny fluid leaking (when I had the seal too far back) and vick said make it flush and it stopped leaking. You will also notice that the dust cap fits a lot better

Is it back on the axle where it's supposed to be? Just tap it back a little. It shouldn't touch the seal.
