Failed SMOG test in CA!

My car failed a smog test. I'm wondering if anyone can help me locate what could cause this. I'll list my car's specs.

1996 200sx se-r
automatic tranny with about 40,000 miles
89,000 miles (synthetic oil change approx every 3,000m)
- changed intake with POP charger, no piping, just air filter
- dual catback exhaust
- obx stainless steel headers

It passed the smog when i bought it, but it was stock then. Does anyone have any idea's what could be causing it? What would be the most likely culprit out of what I have listed? Please give me any ideas! Thank you.

Header exhaust and pop charger. Just put your factory stuff back on for the test. Switch back as soon as you pass. problem solved.

yup, the header and the intake made you fail the visual inspection. You have to put the stock header back on and you can get the JWT CARB sticker for the intake to pass (or just put the box back)

Retarding the timing to 12-13 degrees can reduce your particle counts.

You didn't post exactly what caused your car to fail.
High CO2s, NOX, etc?
