TOB clip put hole in bellhousing...how to separate bellhousing

little clip from the TOB, somehow popped off, tumbled around inside the bellhousing, and got mangled up and punched a hole in the gear side, causing the fluid to leak in, not the seal I though it was at first. Going to see about getting it welded up tomorrow.

How do you get the bellhousing off the rest of the tranny? I pulled the bolts off but couldn't get it apart, just separated a little, is there anything holding it back on the input shaft? Be easier to take than the whole tranny.

gah, I need a FSM, probably buy one with my next paycheck

Stop right there without a FSM. Don't even attempt to open the case without some sort of manual. There is a C clip that holds the top case to the gears, and it sounds like you forgot to take that off. Its under the circle cover that is held on by 8 or 10 bolts. Its the big C clip, not the small one. It might be covered with oil.

got a ? is a none lsd inner case the same as a lsd trany? i know the outer is differnt.
