Whats that hose that goes from the top of the transmission right under the clutch cab

Today i was adjusting my clutch cable and i noticed that there was a hose that ran from the top of the tranny into nowhere...i was like WTF?! Not sure if maybe they forgot to hook the hose back up or what but i dont see it going anywhere.....Anybody have any clue as to where it hooks up to ? My guess is the trans. cooler line but isn't that for automatic?? TIA...

If your talking about the line that comes straight up towards the hood then bends down in a U shape its just a breather for the tranny. Now, Anyone care to explain why mine is spewing oil. I know the tranny is messed up I just wondered if its an indication of a particular problem.

Isn't it supposed to spew oil? I guess maybe to relieve the transmission oil pressure when it spins too fast and cavitates.

uh its not supposed to spew oil, its supposed to vent gas, not liquiddo you have it pointing up, or is it kinda laying flat, even with the trans? I'm thinking if its too low then liquid, if possible might be getting out

Usually when the vent has fluid coming out, it means either the tranny is overfilled or the vent is very restricted.

you don't really have to worry about fluid coming out of the transmission. The transmission needs an opening to vent and the hose serves that purpose. If there is no opening, the internal pressure can blow the transmission.
