electric or inline OIL pump...am I missing something?

I am not an idiot, but I'm wondering why some kind of supplementary, or for that matter primary, electric or inline oil pump is not available for our (or any) cars. It seems like a good idea to me, am I missing something? I'd like to fit an oil cooler and remote filter, but I'd also like to have very strong oil pressure. I don't see why adding some kind of additional inline pump wouldn't be a good solution; eg:http://www.paceproducts.co.uk/automotive-parts.shtml
Am I an idiot or missing something here? There are inline water pumps...

The other reason this would be good is for pre-lubing the motor before startup... C'mon, somebody has to have some input here...Anyone?

I would brobably take alot of Elecricity load to make an electric pump have enough pressure and volume ...... Also I wouldnt want to trust my high $$ Motor to an electric pump !!

I was thinking more along the lines of it as a booster pump or pre-oiling system. If one is concerned about oil pressure, is switching to a GTI-R pump the only thing to do at this point?
