whirring sound

Hey guys,

Just thought someone here might know. I've got a whirring sound coming from the engine close to the belts or the intake manifold. It does sound kinda like something is revving and hitting or rubbing... sound gets louder as the rpms go up.... so I thought it was coming from the belts... but while inspecting it (in the dark with flashlight cause its night time already) It seems to come from closer to the intake manifold or even inside it... I dunno... anyone have any clue?

I had a weird noise on my car like that--it's the top chain guide positioned between the two cam gears--as the chain wears, it starts to rub on that. That's what they all said anyway. I'm not worrying about it. I can only hear it when the hood is popped.
