Is it a VLSD Tranny?

Just curious, because everyone always told me if you look thru the tranny where the axles hookup, if you can see straight thru you have a LSD tranny, otherwise its not.

I got my VLSD tranny, and when I look thru I see a rod in the middle of the tranny, but you can see around it. Searching, someone noted that if the code on the tranny ends in V, then its got VLSD. (My tranny code ends in a V)

So whats the score? When you look thru the axles holes on your tranny... is it just a straight shot thru, or is there a rod in the middle?

i think if one axle seal in like 100mm and the other is only 60mm then its a VLSD and if they are both the same size they are not

couple easy ways to check, one is to look at the tranny, the lsd is a huge bulge out of the housing compared to the non lsd tranny, two is that the code says v, everything i have read indicates a vlsd tranny with that on it. three, jack up the front of the car, spin the tires, they should both rotate in the same direction with a vlsd, an open differential would make the wheels spin the opposite direction of each other. hope that helps
