Weirdest problem with battery light

Hi everyone,
I have a problem with my NX2000 a few days ago. The battery light suddenly turned on, but not on completely. It flickers when I'm on the freeway. Then when I hit the brakes or turn on the headlights, the battery light is brightly lit (stays on) without flickering. I'm thinking it's my alternator. Anyone else had this problem. I went to my car checked out by the machine. I was told the battery was good & the charging system is charging. I'm worried that my battery is still not charging due to that light. Thanks for anyone's help in advance.

has your brake light came on yet.. i know in the b-14 the brake and the bat light come on at the same time. if i were you id give my self a little insurance and change out the alt.. it seems as though under full load the car is trying to power the main stuff such as the spark and it cant power anything else.. at the shop there is no way to put a load on the car and test it.. all they do is rev it to 3k rpm and see if the alternator is achieving "full Field" howerver ther is no real load on the car!! catch my drift. hope this helped let me know.. Kevin

that is just the full fielding test, you can also put a load test on a battery, i know for sure with a vat-40/vat-45. also you can do a load test yourself, watch the alternator voltage as you turn on such things as ac, lights, radio, etc....anything that will put an extra load on the charging system. with a multimeter you can do it at home

I do have a voltmeter at home. I tested it out and it seems like the alternator is charging. What should the voltage be with the engine running and without? It was putting 14.5 with car running (w/o any accessories on). What's a vat-40/vat-45? From what it sounds like, it might be my alternator.

Hi Kevin,
my brake light doesn't come on. It's only my battery light. When I first drive it, the light doesn't come on. I'll have to wait about 2 minutes after driving until the darn light comes on.

a vat-40 is a battery tester, that voltage seems about dead on. on that note, what is the voltage at the battery?...check the grounds and clean all corrosion also.

14.5 is great voltage, i'd turn the rear window defrost on, blast the ac,radio, headlights, hell even the emergency blinkers, then check the voltage you shouldn't see lower than 14 volts on a healthy alt.
if you do
replace it
