Full Drivetrain Replacement ?'s

Hey guy's, Ive been around for awhile with Nissan on Sentra.net and NissanForums with my 89 Nissan Sentra, I just joined this forum because I just recently bought a 93 SER and have had it about a week now.

well it has 5th gear pop out and a crappy Idle. Ok so i was fine buying the car like this. Then the Clutch stopped working today. I replaced a new clutch cable new from Nissan made for the 1.6 liter model because i was informed it is a better adjusting cable for the SER. anyways it seemed to work untill tonight when the clutch started vibrating then stopped working.
im at the point where i dont want to fix it with used parts so I want to go new , a whole new drive train. although i will take a rebuilt tranny or low mileage tranny, preforably one from a 95 or 98 200sx SER.
would ya'll be so kind to list some of the best places and prices to buy such things. and what you guys think would be the best parts to replace it with, such as a ACT clutch for the replacement.
I will be replacing it all this week.

thank for your help.

Well, it all depends on what you're looking to do. If you're going to keep your SE-R N/A and won't be doing much track time, an OEM clutch setup is best. I bought a Key Value Clutch Kit from Mossy Nissan (http://www.mossyperformance.com) for $100. The clutch did really great for the time my car was running. So this could be an option you could consider.

For transmissions, browse the Mechanical/OEM Part-out section. I'm sure you'll be able to find a B14 tranny without much problem.

Good luck.

ok I went to http://www.mrengine.com/used_engines.asp then called them , they have a sr20de tranny, its the non LSD . for 400$ with only 30k on it straight from japan. they are located in Raleigh NC and it wold only be 65$ to get it shipped here or i could go pick it up seeing as they are only 2 hours from me. That seems to be the best route to go. but i need to know, do i have a LSD tranny? and is it that big of deal if i dont get the LSD tranny. i need help on that one because i honestly just dont know.

thnks for the input on the clutch kit BTW.
i think im going to go with the ACT street clutch....

ACT Clutches:
Performance Pressure Plate:
91-95, 2.0L, N-011, (+45%), $208.01
91-95, 2.0L, N-011X, (+95%), $260.45
86-97 w/1.6L, N-019, (+50%), $162.56
Performance Street Disc:
91-95, 2.0L, NSD109S, $138.09
86-97, 1.6L, NSD042, $34.09
Solid Racing Disc:
6-Puc Very Aggressive Contact, $99.20
4-Puc Brutal Contact, $82.59
Release Bearing:
All, RB433, $27.97

thats what this site has listed http://www.cyberauto.com/index.php/NissanSentra.txt

is that just a kit broken up into different parts?
because on this site i see the street disc going for $375

$333 for the street disc/hd pressure plate shipped.

As for the tranny, you have LSD and should stick with it...
91-97 trannies will work for you... 98 didn't have the LSD

Yes, I'm telling you that I got a whole clutch kit for $100 (disc, pressure plate and throw-out bearing). That's what it says on the receipt I received. I ordered it through Mossy Nissan. Ask for Greg Vogel, and mention to him that you're a forum member to get a discount.

The ACT clutch is probably better than the OEM. I'm sure it can take more abuse than the OEM clutch ever could.
