ok i was driving up to a red light and i apply my brakes, all o f a sudden i hear a breaking noise and then something falls onto the street, i dont get out to see what it was cause i was like in the middle of an intersection, so i i just keep on goin cause i was pretty close to home, so i find that when i apply the breaks, i feel no pressure at all so i have to use E-brake till i get home. so i park my car and i go to the intersection and i pick up a brake pad...only one. so when i get back home i notice break fluid coming outta my right front tire, do i need a break kit? what do you reccomend? and will i still be able to drive and use E-Brake for a while?? Please help..
Its VERY UNSAFE to drive with just using the e-brake. The rear brakes alone are not strong enough to slow your car down. Pull the front right wheel off and take a look at what happened.

thanks for the advice, much help is need here for i have never gotten too mechanical with my car, i am very unexperienced
someone not too long ago (serban?) mentioned something about a brake pad falling out, probably because of them being very very low. Im not sure why there is brake fluid though, you need to pull the wheel off and see whats going on

I don't know if that makes you feel any better but on saturday i blew one of my Goodridge steel braided brake lines. No brakes while driving.I autocrossed/drag with them for two years without any problems.
Have your brakes checked out by a shop.Maybe you need new pads. How are your calipers?

there are a few things that could have happened that i can think of firstly if the car is new to you and the previous owner purchsed new rotors from a part store he may have ended up with the wrong ones due to some major comunication glitch between nissan and aftermarketers/ retailers about nx brakes. if the wrong rotors were purchsed they would be about 6 or 8 somewhere in there mm to narow. this would cause the caliper piston to start off on a new set of pads about half way extended and with the extra room allow a pad to fall out, in addition to that, if that is the problem, after the pad fell out you had to of hit the brakes again and fully extended the piston which either riped the seal due to age or the piston actually fell out aswell
other than that the only things i can think of as far as a fluid leak are the bleeder and the brake hose but either of those leaking would not cause a pad to fall out.
i dont know how many miles but about 5 months left on it, yeah i think you're right about the rotor. the previous owner did mention about getting new brakes, he must have gotten the wrong ones. you know where i can get oem ones or better?
