Hey find me a good one.. for a 95' Infiniti G20 5spd sr20de.
Three things I'm looking for:
- Extreme Grip.. i.e. 2x the stock.
- Light weight.. i.e. aluminum/alloy
- Good quality, dependable name brand
I want light weight Flywheel along with it too.
What brand and model do you recommend for a clutch kit and the flywheel?.. I'm new to modding this kind of stuff.. so plizz explain to me in detail...
another thing, does the extreme level(racing level) clutch have negative effect with the kind of car setup I got?.. The things I will be modding my car is the exhaust system and air intake system.. I want a clutch system that is more than strong enough to handle it.. because I know that with the better and lighter flywheel helps on the acceleration as well.. as well as the good grip on the clutch so it won't slip anything. My stock clutch system stinks as hell... it's worn out.. Helppppp......

If you're going to stay N/A, go with the JWT pressure plate and the '00 SE disc. For the flywheel, Fidanza is the best. Make sure you break in the clutch properly before you start to abuse it. That way you wont have to worry about premature clutch-slip.
Please use the search button before posting a thread. Opinions on clutch/flywheel setups can also be found that way, which is what you're looking for.

hey what do u mean by N/A.. i dunno..
hey can ya show me a link to those parts? any particular model/type should i look for? .. also is there a site that carry both '00 SE disc and the JWT pressure plate?
I guess you don't know much about cars. You seriously need to learn before you do anything to your car.
nope... I was here a long ago asking questions about this kind of stuff.
I know the very basics, but no need to go to the edge learning to become a "mechanic". I'm just asking questions to make sure what brand/model is better for the replacment. I was planning to order the parts so I can have the mechanics install them for me. I'm not planning to put all these on myself. are ya crazy...
Quote:
N/A = Naturally Aspirated - the state that your car is in right now (no turbo/supercharger).
I know what Naturally Aspirated/Normally aspirated means. You just said "N/A". To me, that sounds like you are saying "Not Available".. which do not make any sense at all..
Once again, I'm not looking to be a mechanic... otherwise I would've gone to take classes to become one. I said it before.. I'm ordering the parts and have the mechanics install it. Don't underestimate a guy too easily just because I asked this and that..
You took me the wrong way. My point was for you to know a few things so that you know whats going on instead of posting about everything. I wasn't questioning your intellect.
Believe me, you will appreciate having some know-how about how things work. I'm not a mechanic by profession or anywhere near being a mechanic. I'm a college student majoring in Economics. Knowing these little things save me time and money, which is what I was trying to show you by suggesting that you give yourself some time to learn a little bit.
I don't know what you're thinking when you see the word mechanic. There is nothing demeaning about it. Knowledge is a great asset to have. Its upto you if you don't want to learn. I just threw that out to you as a courtesy so that you don't sound like you have no idea about anything. I guess courtesy is not appreciated anymore.
I highly recommend Clutch Specialties. I have their Stage 2 in my car....the pedal feel is not ridiculously light like JWT or Key Value, and its not insanely heavy like ACT. Combine that with a Fidanza flywheel, oh baby

Think of it as customers.. the general public who have lesser knowledge in mechanics of the cars. When their car breaks down, what do they do.. they take it to the repair shop and have the mechanics fix the problem. I don't have enough time to spend time learning all this detail stuff just to get a damn set of clutch. You have spent more time dissing someone like me instead of answering to the questions I posted there. Over 60% of your post didn't answer my questions. See what i'm sayin'.
I looked for the JWT pressure plate, the disc and I told you what a break in is. Hell, I even gave you links to where you could get them from. And now you have the nerve to say I didn't help you? Sorry, but I think you need to revise your attitude, as it won't be appreciated much around here.
You call that dissing? Man, you don't even know how I usually am. Forum members will tell you how I am when it comes to questions like yours. I guess we'll have to wait and see until the next time you ask a newbie question.
dude, Harris is trying to help you, save you time and maybe some money in the future. don't be crying here if one of your mechanics fu*k the sh*t up because you took their word for it.
just because they call themselves mechanic doesn't mean they know how to fix or install everything. some mechanics are stupid and doesn't know sh*t about our cars.
you are in a car forum so N/A doesn't mean...
"not available" duhhh.
next time do a SEARCH!!!!

Harris has provided you with enough information to search for yourself. This discussion has been brought up many times and a simple search for clutch would have given you plenty of answers. If you're not happy with his response, or any body's response to your post for help, why bother to ask?
So to not seem like an ass and not help, here are a few websites to start your search:
I highly recommend Clutch Specialties. I have their Stage 2 in my car....the pedal feel is not ridiculously light like JWT or Key Value, and its not insanely heavy like ACT. Combine that with a Fidanza flywheel, oh baby
how much? have there been any problems with that brand clutch compared to the ACT HD clutch setup?
I got mine for 340 shipped. There are a few people on the board who use them. My kit (stage 2) came with an ACT disk (it was printed on it). I believe they custom make their pressure plates.
You can email, but you won't get a response. I called up and talked to Brian, he shipped it out the same day.
I haven't had any problems with mine, have about 700 miles on it. I haven't heard of any complaints either.
Also, you can't really go wrong with a Fidanza flywheel...for the money.
Space Boy, Harris did you a favor, don't knock it. Wow, you have 4 posts... have you checked the newbie section yet and the faq's? If you had, you wouldn't have even had to make this thread.
Look before you ask or the Search Monkey is going to bite you in the ass.
I don't get it, Harris is actually being tactful and I'm being a bastard... what happened?
Later,
Mark

All my brothers, his friends and my friends, and me run the Clutch Specialties clutches. He can custom make you a clutch for whatever you need. I had a 6 puck sprung hub with a heavy duty pressure plate on my old classic and it was awesome. Grabs good and the pedal felt just right. Right now I have the same clutch setup with their aluminum flywheel sitting in my living room awaiting to be installed on one of my future classic se-r. I would highly recommend their clutches.
