question

i know this is obvious but i just need to make sure that its what is going on, i ordered a motor from soko, 91-93 not sure what year they sent me.. i have a 91 motor in my nx should i take out the intake cam in the 91 and put it in the new motor since i dont know what year it is?

If the intake manifold on the new engine looks like yours, don't bother. If it looks different, send it back and tell them to send you one that does; I not even sure the newer engines (lo-port engine) will work in the older chassis (hi-port engine).

The people at SOKO are pretty sharp. If you told them a 91-93 NX, you should get the right thing. If you're concerned, then take pics when you get the engine and we'll help you out.

well i will have the engine on tuesday along with the thermoblock spacers heh

There is a need for just a slight correction. Hope you don't mind, Kent.


There are some UK SR20s that come with a low-port head, and they seem to have the same intake cam as the import high-ports from what I've been reading. So that may be the only low-port that would be an exception when talking about imported DEs. And it will work right. 94sentrase-r bought one and showed pics of it in his ride.
