Tire Sizes

Ok guys, for those who have data to back it up please shed some light
I have an auto sr and run 185/60/14
want to upgrade and still want the 1/4 mile time to be consistent so would 195/60 adversly affect me that much and would 195/55 increase the 1/4 mile time in my favour that much?
185's kinda scary sometimes because of the contact width
thanks guys
At the end of the day, don't want the car to get slower than it already is

There are plenty of tire calculators on the 'net; enter your stock size first to get the baseline diameter or circumference, then plug in some numbers for the upgrades you're considering.

I'll tell you right now to read up on "Plus sizing", it's exactly what you're after.

Here's a tire calculator that Slartibartfast mentioned. I use this whenever I have to buy rims and tires.
