VDO gauge install

I used to have my gauges in on the A pillar, but I got tired of it. I followed Steve's (98sr20ve) install , but made it work for my radio install. First I bought a 3' section of 1/8" angle aluminum that had 1" sides. I measured the length and cut it. Since I was mounting the brackets to the inside of the stock bracket, I ground the sides flush.

Next I cut the ABS plastic and cut the holes for the gauges with a 2" hole saw. Since the gauges sit close together, the screw on holders of the VDO gauges touch each other. A few seconds on the bench grinder fixes that. I also had to cut holes in the plastic and brackets to get to the top 2 screws that hold the whole thing in the car.

Next was wiring. I wired both gauges parallel for the power, ground, and lights. I also added wires for the water temp gauge that I'm getting soon. This way all I have to do is cut the hole in the plastic, and wire the sender. Now I only have 1 power wire, and both wires for the lights.

I used the bracket for the ground, since that's where the radio gets its ground.

Here is the finished result.
