i changed mine the other day... i put the new pads on, then took the piston and put it against the pad that was closest to the motor then pulled outwards REAL hard and that made the piston go in just enough for me to start sliding it over the new pads
Yes, I always have needed to push the piston back in, I use a Big ass c-clamp and take the master cyllinder cap off. For the rear calipers, you actually need some needle nose pliers, or a special tool you can get at most auto part stores to twist the piston back into the caliper.
