Re: B14 MAF reground

I just grounded it to the same place that the battery is grounded. Follow the ground off the battery, and you're golden. Sorry I don't have a cam, so i can't help you there.

Re: B14 MAF reground

Basically I just cut the wire about 1 1/2 inches from the plus itself. Then I just connected a 8 gauge wire to it, and then I grounded it. easy as that.

Re: B14 MAF reground

i managed to work the metal clip out of the plastic connector and then was able to crimp the new ground directly onto the connector. I wanted to do that incase the stock metal ground connector was making bad contact also... but it was a bitch getting the clip out with out breaking the plastic

Re: B14 MAF reground

I just cut the middle wire, and sliced a wire goining from the plug, and i grounded it to a open hole on the inner fender well. Im goining to try it again with a bigger wire and to my engine this time. I heard on b14s theres a ground in the ecu for the maf, but i assume it can have the same problem as the b13s did.

Re: B14 MAF reground

You guys NEED to read the MAF ground write-up either on SE-R.NET or the SE-R mailing list archives. The Nissan TSB shows a specific location for the extra ground and WHY.

http://www.se-r.net/engine/maf_ground.html i have checked this link and the all data tsb's. None of them explain why the ground needs to go to the back of the intake manifold versus directly to the battery ground or another chasis ground. Why is it that it needs to be grounded to this location???

Re: B14 MAF reground

ok, i just did it again, and soldered(sp?) the wire to the maf harness, and grounded it to the intake manifold. before my resistence was anywhere from .017 to .035! now it has none. I used a bigger wire than what theharness is so that might be the reason why theres no resistence.
