For those of you with exhaust piping that rattles...

I had a problem with my custom exhaust piping hitting that crossmember in the rear... everytime i would hit a bump, it would make a loud tink tink noise *** it his the crossmemeber. i have a cheap, effective way of getting rid of the noise. I just got 1 slipper(i believe you mainland peeps call them "flip flops") and strapped it down with zip ties on the crossmember where it hits. And now the rattling is quiet as hell now. Just thought i'd share this method... *** the only other way is to redo the piping which would be a pain in the ass.

Mines isn't touching, but when it does hit, it doesn't make contact for that long enough to melt.

Re: For those of you with exhaust piping that rattles...

hey Kyle, I had same problem too for awhile when I put on my exhaust, except I think it was hitting the swaybar. I did the same thing, but I used an old square piece orange colored infomercial cloths to dampen the sound when the exhaust clanks when I go over speedbumps. Unfortunately, the rag got warped/toasted after a week and just fell off

Or you could try Kartboy urethane exhaust hangers
.
They significantly reduced any unwanted movement of the exhaust system, which leads to the annoying noises.

Cheapest place I've found them is from 4SuburuParts.com.

Re: For those of you with exhaust piping that rattles...

when i did my det swap, i had my 3" piping go under the rear suspension instead of the stock location. works great.. no noises or anything and its too low that it scraps on anything.
