i got the car from a used car dealer he says theres a ecu in the car its a 92 se-r is there another way to check other than revving it till it bounces of the limiter *** i heard the tachs are somtimes off it kicks back at 8k when in first
Im confused, are you saying there is a chance the car came without an ECU?
Anyways....Of course there is an ECU in the car, otherwise it wouldnt run at all....
If you are asking if there is a rev limiter, there is...the ECU is programmed to cut off. Redline is 7500, I wouldnt recommend going any higher to test the rev limiter.

Well, the actual Rev limiter is 7700 on a stock ecu. If you take the ECU out, it will say whether it has been re-programmed by JWT (sticker with the program added).
Well, aside from JWT, I dont know of anyone that does ECU "chipping" or programming, but there are a few guys who have replaced the crystals to get a higher rev limiter..thats a possibility as well, but unlikely.
