rpm after fuel filter change

i have a b14 and today i finally changed my insanely dirty fuel filter with a 300zx fuel filter and now when im in drive (i have an auto ) my rpm are at 1200-1300 rpm and when im in park my rpm are at 1700-1900. what caused this? and i am gonna search on how to fix this but after i get back from school at 10pm, but if you wanna tell me how to fix then thats cool too. thanx guys.

Re: rpm after fuel filter change

reset ecu and see if this helps, a long winded suggestion but cause the filter was so dirty the ecu compensated for it and adjusted idle so wipe it clean and check again

Re: rpm after fuel filter change

Is there a benefit to putting a 300zx fuel filter in a NA car? Is your car turbo or running nitrous? Just curious because it would be an easy mod.

Re: rpm after fuel filter change

it feels like it has a better top end and since it was the same price as a reguler 200sx filter i figured why not. BTW i only have intake and headers, stock exhaust otherwise

Re: rpm after fuel filter change

and it fits into the stock location, you just have to wedge it into the C-shaped bracket.

Re: rpm after fuel filter change

i have heard people saying that they got better gas milage and better top end. i can feel better top end but that might just be because my old filter was so dirty. they were the same price so why not?
