1992 SR20DE Head Bolt removal

Searching like mad but cant find the head bolt removal procedure anywhere. I haven't gotten my FSM yet but i want to get the head off and get it to a machine shop to be resurfaced. Anyone have the procedure in txt or pdf? A whole FSM in PDF would be awesome if someones got it on a FTP or something.

Re: 1992 SR20DE Head Bolt removal

well to remove the head bolts, you take this thing its called a "Socket Wrench" and a 10mm allen socket and remove them. ha, lol.. no but seriously ill post pics within 10 mins, I'll get get my FSM and stuff. one thing ill note is you have to remove the cams (of course) and you will save your self some cussing if you remove the rocker guides and rocker shims and keep them organized to where they were. you have to keep track of what valve had what shim, otherwise youll have uneven rockers with bad cam wear and rocker wear. i took the shims and put them on a piece of cardboard and taped over them with clear packaging tape so they arent going anywhere.

well the head bolts are list price of like 3.30ea. so its not bad, but i have 180 great justifications why to get a SR20VE.

Thanks man i love huge non 56k friendly pics Comcast cable doesnt mind. Helpful pics, i'l have to measure my headbolts and if they are reusable i guess i'l do the head job. If not i guess i'l do a VE swap, cause new headbolts would be expensive. Thats what i tell myself anyway.

new head bolts arent that expensive and if you have the head off you should replace the new head bolts and washers. you dont want a blown head gasket after you do all that work.

btw get a chiltons manual and you will never have to worry about procedures again . its like the SENTRA BIBLE

If you want a "Sentra Bible" check out a Factory Service Manual (FSM), i think you will be very impressed. Just check out the 3 pages of my FSM i have posted above. IMHO (and many others) Chiltons is not even close to an FSM.
