JDM SR20DE vs. USDM SR20DE Dyno comparison.

I went and dyned my new jdm sr20de against my usdm sr20de with the exact same mods.

I took the G20 ecu out for the swap, but it is going back in very soon, I obviously need it to take full advantage of the new power band.

My mods are : place racing warm air intake, an OBX header, and stock muffler delete.

The difference is 9 peak hp, but over 20 hp at redline!! Thats incredible! If I had my G20 ECU in, I probably would have made more.

Of course this dyno may not be that fair, it is also comparing a lowport usdm engine to a highport jdm engine.

Re: JDM SR20DE vs. USDM SR20DE

those are pretty solid numbers, you've got a ringer. my highport usdm put down 142/128 after intake/header/exhaust and with the timing at 17.

I really don't think so, it doesn't have any of the signs of being a 10:1. I do know it came out of an automatic car though.

BTW: I got this engine from JGY, aparently you get what you pay for.

Yeah.... that is BHP not WHP.

158 BHP * .85 = ~ 134 WHP.

Re: JDM SR20DE vs. USDM SR20DE

i heard the only difference is the EGR stuff. If you plug your USDM sr20 egr, you might be making about the same HP as that of a JDM.

I don't think the cams are different. I have measured lobe height and was the same.

Damn, thats pretty badass! I was always curious to see this comparison! With just a WAI and OBX header thats like serious low 15s high 14s timeslips with the right skills IMHO. Hopefully my JDM is that powerful too.

The Power diffrence has more to do with the cam than being diffrence from JDM to USDM.

Please know that the highport intake cam gives 6-8 more WHP over the stock lowport cam.

The stock WHP for a

USDM 91-93 highport = 127 WHP
USDM 95-97 lowport = 119 WHP

If the high port cam was put into the lowport motor you would get even HP results.
