Long story short-->Checking for bent valves

I over revved my sr20de and broke 1 rocker arm on #1 cylinder intake side. The spark plug in #1 cylinder was oil or gas soaked, and compression was at 40 psi. I replaced the broken rocker arm and fired it up, but it still ran the same. At this point I thought for sure it was a bent valve. I now have the cylinder head off, and looking at the piston head, and the valves they look fine, doesnt appear to have been any contact. Is there anything else I should look for? I tried to remove the valve springs, but the tool I have doesnt fit right.

Thanks

Re: Long story short-->Checking for bent valves

An old school trick is to pour some solvent or gas into the intake and exhaust ports and se if any seeps out around the valve. Ya could have done a leak down test with the head on and found out too.
