messed up fuel rail?

My car is been idleing alittle funny since i put the the engine in, but it really hasnt been all that bad. And I was looking at the fuel rail today, and i came across one of the injectors isnt sitting all the way down in the manifold. It looks as though when someone was putting on/taking off a delivery truck, they hooked on the the fuel rail to do so. Ill get some pictures of what it looks like tomorrow, but I was wondering if its possible to somehow knock the injector back down into the manifold all the way. It also looks like gas is leaking its way around the black seal that it fits into, so i dont know if that could be affecting gas milage, performance, idle, etc. Thanks.

Re: messed up fuel rail?

Same thing happened with mine. As far as i can tell i'm getting a miss from it. Reason being, if I force the fuel rail slightly it gets worse. I'm trying to get a replacement to find out for sure but i will keep you posted.

Re: messed up fuel rail?

i had the same problem with the rail when i received mine last year...it's how they hook it when they lift the motor. jgy sent me a new one right with it though so it wasnt to much of a problem for me.

Re: messed up fuel rail?

if the injector does not fit in teh rubber pice correctly it will cause a vaccum leak. Get a replacement rail ASAP. Further more, depending on the bend it could impede fuel flow across the rail.

Re: messed up fuel rail?

Lots of engine importers use the fuel rail as a lift point. Makes the fuel rail a POS!! lazy bitches!

swap it to your USDM rail- or PM me if you need a good rail

Re: messed up fuel rail?

I was installing my NOS DP kit and pulled off the rail and noticed that it was kinked bad So I replaced it with the one off my old motor.
