Oxygen sensor location...

The check engine light came on the new b14 i bought. I was told it was the o2 sensor. Isn't the location on the sensor the wire that is connected to the CAI?, that is attached to the MAF in a stock airbox?

Re: Oxygen sensor location...

There are two O2 sensors on a B14. One in the front of the car in the exhaust manifold and one in the back section of the catalytic converter. Hope that helps.

Re: Oxygen sensor location...

Do yourself a favor and get a Haynes Manual from Autozone. It's a great book for beginners.

Re: Oxygen sensor location...

Dude, you are from Smyrna - one of my favorite vacation spots/travel stop spots. One O2 sensor will be coming out of the exhaust manifold and the other is below the shifter assembly behind the cat.

Re: Oxygen sensor location...

Both are in the exhaust like already mentioned. Just stand at the front of the car and look stright down between the radiator and the engine and follow the exhaust. There are only 2 sensors/wires that go into the exhaust both are the o2 sensors.

Re: Oxygen sensor location...

HAHA, i was in the process of getting a Haynes manual, but they were out. It was killing me wondering where the heck the sensors are at. I went out and looked, i found them though, i remember when i was changing my shifter. I just bought another b14, the check engine light is on, i was told it was the oxygen sensor. Phil had it hooked up to a machine at autozone i believe.

When do you usually come down this way? We have a pretty huge following in this area for SE-Rs... You should pm me the next time you come down this way.
