Fog Lights quit.. now the Cruise Con. is gone

My fog lights quit working a few months ago and i traced the source of the problem to the Bosch relay mounted to the firewall above the MC. now... my cruise control doesn't work and i was wondering if that relay also supplied power for the CC?

2 Unrelated circuits. Make sure you didn't unplug the harness to the control box when you swapped the relay. Does the light in the switch come on? Does the cruise light in the gauge cluster light up?

have not switched the box yet for the lights... don't remember if light comes on or not.. i'll have to check on the way home from work tonight.

You should be able to hear a faint click sound from the relay when you turn the CC on and off. If you dont hear it, first make sure the switch is plugged in, then you might want to try and change that relay. Might even have a fuse for it somewhere.

alright... tried it last night:
1. both lights come on, at switch and in cluster
2. does not engage a speed when set button pushed
3. i do hear a click when switch on dash is pushed

any ideas?

Make sure the vaccum line from the vaccum box to the cable part is hooked up. Also check the cruise cable to make sure it doesn't have too much slack. It sounds like the cruise computer is working okay.

i wonder if slack is the issue as when it was working i had to go 5mph higher than whatever speed i wanted to set it on.

It could be. Make sure the adjustment nut hasn't backed out.

sorry to jump in the thread but my cruise is doing the same thing....but there is no slack in the cable......I'll just keep my eyes on the thread and hopefully get some info....not trying to steal your thead..

checked today while washing/waxing the car.. looks like vacuum. the hose is cracking where it goes into the controller. anyone got a fix for this?

Its just normal vaccum hose, replace it.
