jdm swap now runs hot

I just finished the swap and drove it, the engine seems to be extreemly hot.

The gauge says its right in the middle, i swapped over the sensor for the gauge.

I took off the coolant lines going to the heater core, since there is no blower motor, i just ran a short line for the 2 metal ends.

Any idea why it would seem extreemly hot but read in the middle?

Re: jdm swap now runs hot

I don't know if you did this, but let me ask you anyway:

1) Did you change the water pump?

2) How about the thermostat?

Re: jdm swap now runs hot

I would say the motor is the running fine if your guage is reading correct, other than that i would say the theromostat.

Re: jdm swap now runs hot

Well, I think you are right. My car ran around 230 all the time and i was shocked to find out that after bleeding the system some moron didn't fill the radiator back up! Once I added water (almost a gallon of it) car has been perfect. I run at around 158-163 on the highway and around 190 in bumper to bumper traffic.

Re: jdm swap now runs hot

Do ya have access to a consult or nprobe to see what temps the ECU is seeing? Nissan gauges arn't the most accurat (sp) things out there.
