moving alteantor to rear of the motor?

i remember coming across this on the boards was that someoen moved their altenator to the rear of the vehicle? is this possible and if they've done it can they post up a how=to or tips ? thanks

Asuuming that it would be possible, I think that it would be a MAJOR waste of time, effort and resources.
Are you sure you don't mean putting the BATTERY in the trunk?

im doing it *** i forgot to clear out some room on the tubular manifold i made to celar the altenator. **** prob just make antoehr one and sell this one to an RWD SR20guy but i belive i read about it being done before so i wanan give it a shot

some people use an s14 (i think) alternator and mount it where the power steering pump is. the only reason to do this is to make some room up front for a really big turbo and manifold.

Jack Laverty did it on his VE NX2000. It cleans up the engine bay very nicely. He said he used mostly stock parts, and he just had to fabricate one thing. You may want to PM him...unfortunately I don't remember his forum name.

Gotcha. I personally would try to get another manifold rather than try to put an alternator in the back.

Actually,if you are ok without power steering, it is a pretty easy conversion from what i understand. you just need to find out the correct parts to get.

im perfectly fine without PS> its not a daily driver so i dont care. im trying to find out the correct parts to get. i might just make another manifold =T

I know that SER2FAST did it on his race car. that is his screen name on here if you want to try to get in touch with him. he can be a really helpful guy.
