I changed my oil yesterday and noticed a pretty deep dent in the oil pan toward the front (bumper side). I don't remember when or how this could've happened but of course I'm going to replace it asap. The car has been running fine like always but I'm concerned about the pickup. Is it in the front side of the pan? How deep is it? The dent is maybe an inch deep but it a few inches wide.
I just found some pics on se-r.net and I got lucky as far as I can tell because the dent is not where the pickup is. Do you think its ok to keep driving it like this until I get another pan? I'm probably worrying more than I should but better safe than sorry.
the motor i just got had a majorly dented oil pan...
if i started that motor as it was, theres no way it would have had oil pressure, i took it off, and the dent very easily pounded out with a hammer, i might have even made some extra oil capacity

Nope. The high-port and low-port upper and lower oil pans are not even close! Also, do what serchef said and bang it out. It's cheaper this way.
Nope, the high port uses a different part number, but the low port part number can be used as an alternate part number. So you can use either pan, or either motor. DETs use a different oil pan though.

Dude, I'm telling you, they are different. This is from experience. I tried using a lower-oil pan off a '91 SE-R on my '94. There was no way that oil pan was going to bolt up. The '91 pan was clearly different than the one my car had, which led me to bang out the sucker on my car and re-use it.

According to the Nissan FAST system, the B13 uses one part number. It also shows you can use the B14 part number too.
You still don't believe me. Ok, I guess I will have to rip out my oil pan and take side-by-side pics of it with the '91 oil pan that I still have. Will that satisfy you? Also, I think you're forgetting that my '94 is a low-port, not a high-port.
Ok, Eric, I think you didn't notice something. On the B13 page, there is an alternate part number, which is the same as the part number listed for the B14, meaning that there are technically two part numbers for the B13. So I am right.

Look at the alternate part number, same as the low port B14. I know you have a low port '94. How can the pans between the motors be different, yet still line up with the upper pan?

The lower oil pans are different dude. Again, I'm telling you from my very own recent experience.
The front part of the high-port oil pan (by the A/C pulley) will line up, but the rear part won't because the actual design of the pan is different. Therefore, in order to get the right oil pan for a '94 SE-R, the alternate part number should be used.
