Question..need help

When i come to a stop from 1st gear my idle stays at 2k. If i rev the engine alittle bit it goes up and stays there. Usually im idling around 1k, this just started today. Also when i downshift the car drops so low it wants to shut off. Its a gti-r engine, thanks for any suggestions!

Sounds like you need to revisit the idle setting and timing setting. check the se-r.net for instructions on getting your ecu in timing mode. It is easy on a b14. if you have a b13 I suggest saving you self the headache and buying or building a plms hardware kit for a lap top so that you can use a lap top to get it in timing mode. I have fought with the classic's for the last 6 years, for setting idle's. using a lap top is awesome, it is about $40 to built the hardware and $100 to buy it from plms. you can search consult on the forum for more info. I guess that was a little off topic but it should still fix your problem.

Is there a hardware kit and software for the B14/OBD-II?

Cool. Please do. I really want to be able to get into timing mode without having to rev. Neighbors get mad. Especially when it doesn't go into timing mode right away.
