From Mike K's dyno testing, JWT springs are worth 2hp on S4 cams. AFAIK nobody has tested them on stock cams, they should be worth something, althogh probably not the best HP/dollar

It would be a waste of time/money to install them on Stock cams, but they will not do any harm.

The purpose of the valve springs is to prevent valve float, which is explained in detail here:
http://www.automotiveforums.com/t152566.html

The purpose of cam makers recommending using their valve springs along with their aftermarket cams is to minimize the risk of valve float, which increases with higher lift cams. The only thing that the JWT springs will do is simply close the stock valves a few milliseconds sooner.
Being that as the case, it won't make any realworld or noticeable difference.

I will wager you that the stock springs are NOT surging or floating on the stock cams. Thus, the higher rate valve springs won't offer any benefit.

since they have stiffer spring rates, they may actually make you loose a half a hp or so, since valve springs are made to work with upgraded cams in conjunction.
