Pfitzner Performance dog gearset

I was at SEMA earlier and ran into PPG's booth. They are veyy nice people, anyways the guy told me that they only make dog gear sets for SR20s.... I will be going back tomorrow to see what their pricing is and also what is the case if we wanted to get synchromesh gearsets made for our babies. It may end up cheaper than PAR since they may have a domestic distributor/supplier in line after the SEMA Show is over.An alternative to PAR and a better price would be great!

here is a lnk to their site PPGearbox

PPG make complete dog sets and a combination of dog and synchro sets based on the OEM 5th gear. They also do two gear kits, like 2nd and 3rd, or 3rd and 4th. I had spoken to them and they will do mostly anything you want. Ended up going with PAR to get custom ratios and synchro mechanism. Depending on what you want PPG and PAR are in the ball park of each other on price.
You can also check Quaife, they have a complete set as well...bigger bucks for the name.

I went to SEMA again and was able to talk to the marketing manager and one other guy whom I forgot his name but they gave me a quick rundown on their product. It is very imprssive but like what bigtoe said PAR and PPG have about the same price. They said that can make helical cut synchromesh 1-4th gears for our SR20s for 3500 USD and of course the price would get lower if there is more than one. For two gears(3rd and 4th) he quoted 1300USD for it to be made and again the more made the cheaper it will be. They also mentioned thay have a warranty on their products so if something breaks they will repair it. This is my understanding but do not quote me on this. He said shipping costs would be around 100USD using FEDEX/UPS starting January since there will be no duties.I mentioned PAR but he said that their process is much better than PAR's...he did not really get into details since there was a crowd forming but he told me to contact him if i needed to know anything more.

$1300 for 2 gears. If you look at it like that, man that is some money.

Hmm I don't understand how they could only do 2 gears. Aren't 1-4 all "one piece" and integral to the shaft?

Call Simon Pfitzner
61-8-8285-2933
1st through to 4th are integral to the Input shaft, correct. But whatever it is they do they offer two gear kits as well as full kits.
If I am not mistaken, I seem to remember also on their websie you can see some of the partial kits for the SR20.
