drum brake to disc brake conversion.....

I was wondering if anyone has done a b13 sentra E drum brake to b13 se-r disc brake conversion. I have a spare se-r laying around, that i am going to take all the parts off of. anyone have a write-up or anything? and also, are the front brakes on the E (1.6L) different that the front brakes on the se-r?

thanks

eddie

Go back and read the n00b FAQ.

In truth, you'll find more info on NISSANForums because there are a bunch of GA16 owners over there who want what SE-Rs already have.

why not just use the spare se-r instead of putting its parts on an e?

Edddie - That is a simple thing to do. I did it on my own care about 8 years ago. You will need the the spindle, rotor, caliper, pads and e-brake cable. It all bolts right up. If you are putting it together with used parts and you have larger wheels, us the same year maxima calipers & rotors instead. That will give you a larger rear brake that is almost the same size as a nx2000 front.

i did the rear drum to disc on my GXE. any Qs you have i can help, but i did not do a write up. the fronts are, like twomissanman said, are larger and better.
get those ugly drums out!!! you will need to swap the ebrake cable, the drums use different ones than the disc brake capilers. since you just have an SE-R laying around, lucky, you should swap the master cylinder too.
BTW if you have an SE-R why are you swapping everything to the E... maybe weight, no power options to brake or a better sleeper look?

cause i bought the E first, and put a ve motor in it, and bought the se-r in the end (has blown motor), to rape parts off of it. the se-r body has some damage to it as well. Yes, the E is way lighter (gutted interior), and i swear, the body panels (roof, trunk, etc) are like sheet metal comapred to the se-r. its a super sleeper.
