why is my car makin all these freakin noises?

well i figured out that it cant be the axle, because it makes a clunking noise when im sitting still as well as moving. when i turn the wheel to a certain point, it will make a clunking noise and i can feel it in my feet. i didnt know if it could be with the suspension maybe, something with the agx/GC combination. or the tie rod ends. it only makes it on the passenger side of the car, but the tie rod end is a little messed up on the driver side too. please help! this is aggervating the crap out of me!

the only thing that can be seen to the eye thats wrong is the rubber on the tie rod end. It's all ripped and falling off. i guess there's suspose to be grease in there to make it smooth when turning?

...could be the sping shifting in the seat of the strut or that bearing that often goes bad on the top of the strut.

can u tell any of this by the car being parked and turning the wheel? because i had someone turn the wheel and i was trying to feel around, and there was no noise or vibration coming from the strut.

you mentioned you could feel it when sitting still. Have someone turn the wheel from lock to lock while you watch the strut...where the bottom of the spring seats to the strut (do you still have the rubber between the spring and the strut?)

On my car I could see the spring shift when you turned the wheel...

Hope this helps...Jody

i too have similar symptoms of that too....
i have a clunk/pop noise when turning to the left
when i brake and put load on the front end the same clunk/pop noise.
when starting to acclerate the car the same noise from the same side.
it is also coming from my front right (pass. side). i have no clue what it is, i assume it is the tie rods or ball joints since the rubber is all torn around them. the driver's side tie rod end still has the rubber intact. i think i am going to replace them and see if that cures it.
at first, i though it could be that the pass. side axle was bad b/c i had a torn inner cv boot, but it did not cure my popping/clunking noise from that side.

ya, torn rubber is a good indicator of something that needs to be replaced!

Recheck the front motor mount(mount next to belts) for this one.

Thread starter- Cluncking while turning, check the steering rack mount brackets/bushings also.

also you guys with this problem could check or change the wheel hub bearings....mines did this a few days ago....when ever i accel it would feel like my wheels gonna fall off...and when ever i turn to the right it would make that clunking noise, and i would feel it in the steering wheel...changed the wheel hub bearings and it is normal now....if you are feeling it when turining left then it is the right side, if you feel it when turning right then it is the left side....also could be strut mounts......

i took a look under the car today, i couldnt find anything wrong besides the rubber boot thats on the tie rod is ripped. i think i was looking at my brothers car and one of his is ripped too but his doesnt make any noise? i have no f-n clue whats makin this noise. i guess the next step will be to take off the strut, or im just gonna take it to a shop for one of those free estimates
