Lemme make sure I'm right...

In reference to this link http://geocities.com/acmdotcom/ the "oil blowby gas" is from the hose that connects to the bottom of the stock oil seperator right? Instead of capping the "T" at the valve cover, could I instead run a hose like a test pipe that just eliminates the stock oil seperator, then, use the factory "T" that is still connected to the valve cover and run 1 line to catch can in and catch can out to the intake?

In searching I found many hard to follow references. Just want to make sure I get the supplies and do it right the first time.

Thanks, Josh

EDIT: I guess I should add that I am runing an aftermarket catch can.

I run a DET block built NA.
The valve cover breather (distributor side) goes directly to a catch can via # 10 lines.
The PCV Outlet (back of cover) also goes to the Catch Can, but it connects to the main # 10 from the cover breather. No PCV.
The line off of the block, from under the OEM seperator was removed and blanked at the block. The oil return ports from the head in that corner of the block passes through a void in the block that is covered by a baffle plate, the plate protects the seperator connection from windage. It does not work well at all. I have made a multi plate baffle and filled each section with s/s mesh inside the void, it still will blow oil. I have extended the oil return port past the void. It still blows oil at high rpm.
On the DET block there is also the oil return from the turbo so I use this as a vent to the catch can as well.
1- PCV port..........vented to catch can. #6 to #10
2- Cover port........vented to catch can. #10
3- Block Breather...blanked.
4- T'bo Drain port...vented to catch can. #10

If you can tap the boss on the DE block to gain access to the sump at the turbo drain then great. If that's too much work then send both the PCV and the Cover breather to the catch can. If you just run the Cover breather and tie it to the manifold then when the PCV is open under vacum you will be pulling air form outside via the catch can. It may lean out the idle and cause more problems.
If you remove the PCV then tie it to the catch can as well make sure the catch can has at least a 1 inch vent to the filter. You do not want the crankshaft main seals to see positive pressure from a restricted "vent".
You can alternatively tie the catch can vent to the upstream side of the inlet air filter, if possible, so that the can is always under a partial vacum, and by extension the sump.
Do not know what implications this will have for your emissions egulations though.
Hope this helps.

I would like to know too. I could find no straight forward answers on how to run a catch can. When you install a catch can, I assume that a hose from the valve cover (by the coil) goes into one of the catch can fittings and then a hose comes from the other catch can fitting and goes to you intake tubing. So that means you block off the short pipe in the block where oil drains from the stock oil separator? Someone should make a stick about how to install a catch can.
