Now don't get me wrong I love my se-r, but it's slow. I have a rs akimoto intake, adv. timing, ps header, & ps catback. I still can only pull a 15.9 in the quarter. When it was stock I was only running 17 flat. It's not that i'm a bad driver, I've had others drive my car and get the same results. I've gone over every hose and everything is fine. Is it possible that maybe I just have a weaker engine? And if I adv. my timing to far how far back would the cpu retrd it? I have been a member of this forum for quite some time, and have searched with no answers for some time now.
Unless your running 93 octane, going higher than 17 degrees is useless, and can damage your engine.
This is not true. FSM specs for timing is 15 +/- 2 degrees on 87 octane. However, to be on the safe side, people do prefer to run 93 with 17 degree timing.

What where your trap speeds? 60' time? What where the track conditions? Altitude? Any other SE-R's there, or anything to compare your car to? Answer those questions and we will be able to give you a much better idea if somethings wrong with your car.
Agreed. Bump it to 19* for a while and see what happens.......
