Nissan GT-R Club Track Edition Set to Debut in Japan

What's the biggest problem with the Nissan GT-R? Why, it's a big fat heavy pig of course. So what if you could get a GT-R that weighed significantly less? Sounds like a winner. The only problem is, it's not street legal.

Official Nissan tuner NISMO is set to release a new Club Track Edition of the awesomely capable GT-R. The car gets a stripped out-interior, a roll cage plus racing seats and harnesses. There's also a set of 20-inch Rays forged wheels borrowed from the SpecV model, wrapped in sticky racing slick rubber.

No official details are yet available, but the Club Track Edition GT-R has to weight several hundred pounds less than the street car. Details are expected soon with the launch date set for July.

Oops, sorry, more bad news. It looks like this track-only model will be available only in Japan to use as a part of Nissan's official driving program.
