i am NOT going to turbo this, so you arent going to see it here...
yeah, i polished it myself. it was easy. just use a wirewheel on the welds (a softer one, btw) to clean them up, then some 600 grit on the actual tubes. then, i used some Mothers wheel polish. i then cleaned it with paint thinner (after sniffing the ammonia from the polish, then the paint thinner, i wasnt seeing very straight...) after i did anything near it to keep the grease, water, and prints from being permanently burned into it.
to clean the block, just use castrol super clean and a stiff brush. that sh*t likes to leave a nice white film on everything (looks like hardwater stains) so i spray it with brake cleaner when im done. keep in mind this motor was completely rebuilt, so making sure it was 100% clean is a necessity.
i also repainted the valve cover. just used some GM metallic touch up spray paint from Pep Boys.
and yes, no UR pullies. that's an N1 water pump pulley, FOO!

I might try that on my Fujitsubo. I forgot to clean the #1 primary when I put the header to head bolt in, and it left a purple mark from the oil on my hand.

Nice setup bro. I am definitely impressed. Don't forget to some numbers if you ever dyno that beast. That would really be good for a daily driver. The best of both worlds.
I am gonna be in LA this week. Wanna break that engine in and take a trip up from San Diego?
