Is anyone running the OEM VE exhaust manifold?

I always see it noted that DE headers have overlap, and that a Fuji or Hotshot, etc header must be used if you want it all optimal. Why not just use the OEM manifold--especially as a temporary setup? Of course, ultimately, one would want an open header to a 2.5-3" collector, to a 3" exhaust--but I haven't read much about people running the OEM VE manifold. Any reason?

Also:

-Are the DE plug wires the same as VE?
-Is the DE oil filter the same?
-Any recommendation on what clutch I should run? I'll search, but curious what people thought, while we're all here.

1. If you use the DE dist, then yes.
2. I believe its the same as the lowport filter, but I'd need to double check my notes.
3. ACT HDSS is pretty popular, and its what I bought.

i believe it is cause the ve header is either to long or to short or something else that makes it unable to bolt up to our exhaust

You can use the VE manifold with the new secondaries from Hotshot. The oil filter is the same as the b14 filter.

I have the VE manifold with a custom made secondary. VE runs the same filter as most the new Nissan's the one that ends in 65F00.

I'm running the stock ve manifold along with the stock ve secondary. I also have a hotshot secondary sitting in the garage waiting for the install.
Pros:
-ports match up
-won't crack
-heatshield can be used (must modify or remove AC line)
-Hotshot secondary is 2.5" starting at the flexpipe.
Cons:
-heavy

I can't comment on performance because I haven't used any other headers on the car and haven't dyno'ed yet. It's under $200 though. You can save the other $400 for the jwt cams fund.

To a custom exhaust?

I think I just realized I only have the manifold coming off the head, but no secondary.
