Clutch slipping....no idea why

Well, We just swapped in an sr16ve into my nx and before completing the installation we checkout everything over and we took off the sr16 tranny and examined the clutch. Well, upon review everything looked great. The disc had very little signs of usage and the pressure plate looked good as well. I used some brakekleen to clean off the pressure plate a bit and we put everything back together.

now, when I driver her, the clultch slips religiously, especially when shes cold. Sometimes however, she grabs strong, other times at low revs trying to accerlate in a gear the revs climb and she goes no where, hence the slipping. Now, we checked it out and it checked out, so this doesnt make sense....any clues....or suggestions...??

thanks...John

Did you have the flywheel resurfaced, if you reused it? Is the clutch adjusted correct?

How much brakekleen did you use, and how long was it on there?

I've generally only seen flywheels get chemicals, etc on them and become compromised, and it doesn't sound like yours was in that way, but if you're brainstorming....

Well, I used just enough to clean it and I wiped it right off. My boy Chris took a sanding wheel to the surface of the flywheel to clean if off a bit....I dont know if that had any bearing on it at all....any other ideas....
