Oil choice?

Guys, I posted this in this section b/c I would like to know what you guys are running in your VE's. I'm thinking especailly for HPDE's since the Convention is coming up, and I'll need to change my oil before then anyway. I thought I've seen a couple guys running 20W50 in the summer/HPDE's, but I didn't know if you were running that all of the time, or if you would change the oil after the event.

I'm running 10W30 Mobil 1, and when the car is warm/hot; my oil pressure is right about 10 psi (right at the minimum). This doesn't make me real comfortable if I'll be running at the track. Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Josh

I've used 10w-30 in the past, and it gets hot quick on the track, and my oil pressure gauge reads alsmost 0 after a track session. I'm going to put 15w-50 in for the convention.

That's what I'm thinking about doing (15w50). If I change it before the Convention, it should be just about ready to change again when I get back.

If the car/engine sees significant or prolonged hard use, I think it is better to use 15w50 - atleast that is what I am planning to do. My NX is not a daily driver, and I will run something thicker than 10w30 for HPDE's. If you just beat on your car during the weekend, and not 30 minute sessions on the track then 10w30 is probably just fine.

Thanx man ! im just going to probably run 15w50 to be safe.......because when i do bring it out i beat it up!lol I notice with 10w30 or even 10w40 beat on the car in like weeks the oil is black , really black! So the thicker oil should be fine!
