MAF question

Are all the 'newer' Nissan/Infiniti MAF's basically the same? There's a Infiniti MAF for sale on the the forum that I'd like to pick up, I just need to know if JWT will be able to program the ECU to use it.

It's from an M30 VQ30, part number A36-000 N60, the seller thinks it's off a 1992 car.

The thread is here http://www.sr20forum.com/mechanical-oem-part-outs/106732-infiniti-m30-maf.html

Thanks in advance,
Chris

Leave that MAF alone. JWT is not using that MAF for VEs or anything else. Your choice for the VE is Cobra MAF, SER MAF, 95-99 MAxima and Pathfinder MAF.

Damn Serb, why so harsh?!?

I've seen people using all minds of different maf's on VE's. I just wanted to know if this one would work.

I dont mean to Hijack this thread... but why do people want to keep using different MAFs and bits from different cars? Is there something wrong with them? What are the benefits of replacing these componants?

Each maf has a limitation on how much air it can measure, We usually choose a maf based on how much air we need to measure.

Unless you have an old ass DE maf that reads correctly but is less than perfect and causes your car to have the infamous sh*tty "miss" around 2K-3K rpm. I thought this miss might go away with the VE, but it was still there, and the only things shared between DE and VE were distributor, temp sensors, maf and ECU.

I got my VE MAF from Miko with the engine, he charged me about the same as what someone might ask for any other maf including a plain old DE maf, and it's my understanding that the VE maf is the reason my car runs perfect now. I'm sure the Calum ECU helps as well but maybe didn't solve the sketchy rpms.
