2 stupid questions...

I am happy owner of WHP11 Primera with SR20VE.

Today I spent some mins to find ECU.... useless...
Guys, there is this item on it?!

second stupid quest...
...during oil change(I use Mobil1 RF) I measured exhaust pipe diameter....
after exhaust mainfold it is 53mm.... middle pipe - 53mm
BUT! muffler(back part of exhaust system) - 41mm.

WHAT IS IT??? IS IT NORMAL? looks like "joke"
(car runs ~9.35sec 0-100 with some goods(a couple cans of oil humlet and ect) in the trunk) I measure with G-tech Pro meter.

as far as ecu most of us depend on jim wolf, but in your case translating to a cvt trans computer most likely isn't somthing they've dealt with. actually all the ve programs they run rely on external cam triggers. i've seen aem is coming out with a b14 sr20de standalone probably be best for you to turn to your eastern neighbors in japan for an engine management system. as far as the muffler, could be part of legislation to keep cars quiet, here in the states they do all kinds of stupid stuff due to the california tree huggers

Are you are asking where the ECU is located inthe car? If so, it's an aluminum box shaped kind of like a book. In most USDM Nissans its on the floor behind the console -- just to the center of the accelerator pedal. You generally need to remove a couple of interior trim pieces to get at it. Another common Nissan location is under the passenger seat.

If you were asking about something different, I apologize for minunderstanding.

Guys, BUT can anybody explain about exhaust pipe?
I trully think to replace cat with test pipe and muffler(back part of exhaust system) with any muffler with D:53mm. can it be harmfull for car/accel or something...

Because, I don't think that Nissan is so stupid to build "wrong" exhaust. maybe there is some reason in such pipe design!?

may be aftermarket or for sound if it is factory......you should have your cat back larger if anything for flow because the exhaust gas looses velocity and gets cooler the farther back, it also takes up more volume

Nissan builds the "right" exhaust for the masses -- that means a nice quiet exhaust that will not upset people in the neigborhood and that will allow you to listen to your radio while driving. That's why they have a small diameter exhaust with big mufflers.

The SR20DE sold here in the US came with a 48mm exhaust from the factory. We get best performance with a 60mm or better. But we get lots of noise too with the bigger pipes.
