a definitive answer?

Ok i've search, and searched, and e-mailed, and read, and read, and compared, and i still can't come up with a definitive answer.

CAN YOU UNDERDRIVE THE SR20VE?
A.It it possible?
B.Is it a good idea?
C.Does anybody make a pulley for it?

No pullies for the VE are made. You can use all the rest of the UD pullies, except the crank pulley.

Ok people say dont put it on because ve's have 4 counter weights instead of 8 on regular sr20de 91-99.8 counterweight are more ballanced crank so therefore its ok to put the ur pulley on that motor. They say ur crank pulley shortens the life of the motor because it does not have the ballancer in the ur crank pulley. Its your choice.

Could you please let me know which particular items, ie item product numbers fit?

Cause I'm keen to get a set.

Also where, that's happy to ship internationally?

Cheers.

Ok, well wouldn't we be able to run the pulley with the balencer?

what if... Can you use the DE crank on the VE? That's a bit extreme, but why can't the harmonic balencer be used with the UR pulley? Or maybe you can just get the stock one machined to be lighter/ smaller?

you got your answer what else do you want?

it's very clear to everyone you need to do more research on the motor...either buy one or search or both.

I have an underdrive pulley on my VE. I got the black ASP pulley $120. Nissan went to a 4 couter weight crank instead of 8 to save weight and allow the VE to rev up faster. The VE crank pulley is also lighter than the DE pulley. The 16VE flywheel is also lighter than the DE flywheel. I dont think vibrations are a problem.

what's the point? you dont gain much power from the 1lb savings or whatever when you put a lightened pulley on there. usually 1-2whp. the gains for most UD pullies is in underdriving the water pump to reduce cavitation, but you could just get an N1 pulley and be done. the VE water pump pulley is the same size as the UR pulley, and the difference in weight is measured in ounces, not lbs.

so, by bolting on the UR pulley, you gain maybe 2whp on a good day, you dont underdrive the water pump any more than before (the inside part of the crank pulley is the same diameter as stock), you do underdrive your A/C and alternator (yay! less cooling and lower idle voltage) and you risk harmonic damage to the engine. not to mention you just spent $140-200 on pullies you cant even see.

that sounds worth it to me, just spend the money on a flywheel or outlaw spacers.
